The short version: Budget Buddy stores your financial data securely using Firebase (Google). We never sell your data, never share it with advertisers, and you can delete your account at any time. Read on for the full details.
When you use Budget Buddy, we collect only what is necessary to make the app work for you:
- Your name and email address (used for account creation and login)
- Financial data you enter — salary, expenses, savings targets, and payment reminders
- Notification preferences you configure
- Custom categories you create for expense tracking
We do not collect your location, contacts, photos, or any data beyond what you explicitly enter.
- To provide and sync your expense tracking and budgeting features across devices
- To send you payment reminders and notifications (only if you enable them)
- To restore your data if you reinstall or change devices
- To improve app performance and fix bugs — we never use your financial data for this
Your data is stored securely on Google Firebase — a cloud platform used by millions of apps worldwide. Firebase encrypts data in transit (HTTPS/TLS) and at rest.
Access to your data is protected by Firebase Authentication. Only you, with your credentials, can access your account. Budget Buddy staff cannot read your financial entries.
Budget Buddy uses the following Google Firebase services:
- Firebase Authentication — secure login and account management
- Cloud Firestore — storing your financial data
- Firebase Cloud Messaging (FCM) — sending push notifications
These services are governed by Google's Privacy Policy. We do not use any advertising or analytics SDKs.
Budget Buddy is designed to give you control over your personal and financial information.
- You may update your name, salary, savings target, currency preferences, and other account settings at any time.
- You may manage your financial records, custom categories, and payment reminders directly within the app.
- You may permanently delete your account and all associated data from within the app at any time.
- You may contact us with questions regarding your personal data, privacy, or account management.
Budget Buddy does not sell, rent, or share your personal financial information with advertisers or third parties for marketing purposes.
Budget Buddy allows users to permanently delete their account and all associated data directly from within the app.
How to delete your account:
- Open Budget Buddy
- Go to Settings
- Scroll to the Danger Zone section
- Select "Delete My Account"
- Type DELETE and confirm
When an account is deleted, the following data is permanently removed:
- User account information
- Expense records
- Income and salary information
- Savings goals and plans
- Custom categories and user settings
Data is deleted when the deletion request is processed.
Account deletion is permanent and cannot be undone.
If we make significant changes to this Privacy Policy, we will notify you via the app before those changes take effect. Continued use of Budget Buddy after that date constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
